For the Record...

I just listened to several Jeremiah Wright sermons and I can't say that I thought he said anything that was untrue. What do white people think is going on in this country? My dad just tried to tell me that Wright was a radical. I think my dad just doesn't know any black people or any black history. Why is it so hard for Americans to admit that there is something wrong in this country?

Ah, My Pop pissed me off today, Ken. And the whole thing made me think that if Obama gets the nomination things are going to get very ugly. They are going to make the whole country scared of him.

it's got to get ugly in precisely this way for things to get better in any real way. but you know this.

I've been saying that I totally understand why Obama might have to admit he disagrees. I don't think anyone would have faulted him for distancing himself from Wright. He is, after all, going through the most grueling process EVER.

But yeah, I personally was nodding along with Wright. Hiroshima/Nagasaki = State sponsored terrorism? Maybe, especially given that we're the ones in the years since who have been saying no one but our buddies can have nuclear weapons.

Sigh..
