Listen, Kate's Blog, I know what it's like -- believe me! If I had a nickel for every letter that I've been sent that ended with those five fateful words -- "It's not you, it's me" -- I'd wouldn't cry myself to sleep every night because of all those damn letters I'd received.
So I've been there, Kate's blog, and I've made it through -- a little older, a little greyer, I like to think a little wiser, but I'll take "more experienced" as a compromise -- you will get through this. In a few years, you and your new blogger and Kate and her new blog will all go out for brunch -- sure it'll be awkward and you'll lash out at your new blogger on the way home for some petty thing then cry and make up before bed -- but then you'll feel "over it", and you'll send Kate a really sincere christmas card sometime down the road that describes how great your new life is.
So buck up, little blog -- you're beautiful, you're wonderful, and by god, people like to read you.
love,
Ken
Dear Kate's Blog,
I know this probably isn't the right thing to say right now, and it's really none of my business, but the fact is there is no-one else like her and you'll never get over her, you won't want to get ever her, you'll obsess over her for years; and the best you can possibly hope for is that through the depths of your grief and despair you'll achieve some sort of transcendence--a sort of spiritual booby prize that will take you through that dark door to the otherworld...or maybe that's just me, maybe you're not that type at all.
Good luck,
Brian
you'll be back.
hey blog.
i just wanted to let you know that i think kate is really being kind of fickle and insensitive to you.
and if you need a shoulder to cry on or a futon to crash on or just a partner with whom to go drown your sorrows for a while, just let me know.
oh -- and don't tell kate i wrote you this, okay?

Dear Kate's Blog,
Wow, we had a really great time this weekend -- I can really see why you think Kate is so great and--unfortunately for you--why she's leaving you.
Better luck in the archives, Kate's Blog!
love,
Ken
