... going green

is really damn hard.

have you taken yr ecological footprint quiz yet?

i scored 13 acres. the average american uses 24 acres. & then i tried to get my acreage even lower by only driving my car 10 miles a week, NEVER taking the bus/train, & walking or biking the rest of my miles...

& then only ever eating 100% upackaged foods...

it only brought me down to 9 acres!

[there is enough for everyone in the world to have 4 something acres, see]

do me a favor...

if anyone of you scores lower than 9 acres when you take this quiz... email me. tell me how to do it. until then... i will do my best to figure it out. & i've already started w/ my bike again.

THANK YOU.

i got a 5 by saying i live with 5 people in a 500-1000 sq foot home, am vegan, and walk everywhere

hmm...not sure. i eat meat maybe once a month, but never eggs or dairy. yoggling back and forth b/wn the two options there changes my score from 8 to 9 and back.

i'm lucky - i live close to where i work, i have a housemate i love, and can pay for organic veggies and stuff. i do like to take *lots* of baths, though, and i didn't see anything about water usage there. i wonder where they made the quiz?

I scored 11 also, which was better than I anticipated. I live in the suburbs and drive a long way to work, but my car gets 40 mph, so maybe that's why I scored ok on tranportation. Most of my acres come from food. I can't get most of my food at the farmers market, it only happens once a week and it's very limited, so most of my food comes from over 200 miles away(I think, I'm not really sure).
